It doesn’t matter to us whether you already have experience in tree nursery work or not. We’re looking for a hard-working person who will fit into our motivated team.
If you’re new to the sector, we offer you the chance to undertake training. You can get started straight away, even before you begin your training!
No two days are the same here! We work in harmony with nature, which means that our tasks change with each season. You’ll be planting, tending and harvesting trees, as well as carrying out all sorts of other tasks around the nursery. The landscape you work in also changes: from the fresh, young greenery of spring to the colourful autumn leaves. Nevertheless, we’d like to give you an idea of what you can expect on a typical day.
Your day starts at 07:00 with a cup of coffee together and a friendly kick-off in the canteen. On Fridays, Dirk, Maarten and Mark have drawn up a work plan for the week, and this morning Ruud is allocating the tasks amongst the team. As an All-round Outdoor Worker, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the nursery, so your work is constantly varied. The team line-ups also change daily, so you won’t hear Dirk’s corny jokes every day.
Today, you’ll be joining Corné and Sjoerd to put up stakes and ties around the trees to minimise wind damage. Jan is using the Mecalac crane to prepare the ground, Ruud is weeding with the narrow-track tractor, whilst Mark is putting our mowing robot ‘Diana’ to work. Hein and Stan are pruning the two-year-old trees, Scott and Jeroen are replacing the binding tubes, and Dirk is counting the trees for sale so that Rens can process them into sales orders at the office.
Everyone gathers the necessary machinery and equipment and gets to work. At half past nine, there’s a coffee break
